Class of 2003
Although not officially the Leavers’ Ball, this was the last time the Upper Sixth would be together in its entirety. After many committee meetings the
date was finally decided as the 21st June - with the theme of a Carnival Ball. Unfortunately rain had threatened all day and at 7:30pm the skies opened - although this was not to dampen spirits; the rain stopped shortly and the party continued. The Gavin Hall and the dining rooms were unrecognisable with exuberant decoration - a big thanks to Di Keough for her professional help. The champagne reception and three course meal prepared everyone for the casino and dancing. T-Base, a well-known local band, played fantastic music (for all tastes and ages!) throughout the night giving the opportunity for all to dance the night away! For the more reserved, the casino allowed the hidden cardsharps and gamblers to emerge.
All through the evening, the magician and caricaturist roamed the party, targeting vulnerable individuals, as well as Sally Smale with the lucky-
dip - there was no chance of getting bored this evening! A huge thanks should be given to Mr Meehan and his committee for all the long hours that were put towards this ball; it was a great night enjoyed by all.
Thank you!
