The 1933 first edition of 'The Sower' reported on the formation of The L.W.A.C Natural History Society.

The Society had the great honor of having Sir Daniel Hall as the President. Sir Daniel Hall held many important roles within Science and Agriculture and he wrote many books, one notable book was about the Rothamsted Research Experiments, this is still an important research Centre today.

Newt Captured from Long House Sutton Gardens!
The Sower Journal in 1933 reported on the great excitement of capturing a Great Warty Newt, which is not listed as a species found in the UK. However, this could of been a Great Crested Newt, still thriving in the United Kingdom and parts of Europe today, which has a warty skin!

There was indeed another one caught and bought into the Society to be examined, however it was thought that they had recapture the original that was liberated into Mr Nelson's garden, who gave lectures to the Society on West Africa.
